Hatha Yoga Intermediate

The Hatha Yoga Intermediate Course (HYIC) builds on the fundamentals of Hatha Yoga Foundation Course (HYFC) and is more in-depth exploration of various hatha yoga techniques. This course is for you if you have completed a HYFC and are ready to enhance familiar asanas and be challenged with more advanced twists, inversions, backbends, arm balances and vinyasas to increase internal strength and create deeper openings in the body. Some powerful techniques of kriyas (shatkarmas), mudras, and bandhas are introduced gradually to enhance the understanding of pranic body through personal experience. Each lesson offers two hours of instructions and finishes with extended yoga nidra, pranayama, meditation and chanting, which bring deeper restoration and calm and invigorating energy to the students. This course is a combination of strength, endurance, flexibility, balance and relaxation on a more advanced level.
Each term of the Hatha Yoga Intermediate Course is usually dedicated to a particular theme, which we explore both theoretically and practically. The participants receive weekly or fortnightly theoretical information by email and get access to the IN-DEPTH knowledge articles on the website to enhance proper understanding of new practices. In the previous courses we studied and practiced Vinyasa Flow, Mudras and their use, the Eight Limbs of Yoga, Yoga Mandala, Chakra shuddhi, Pancha Koshas and Prana Vayus.

Chakra Shuddhi
The word chakra literally meanes “wheel” in Sanskrit. A chakra is a center of activity that receives, assimilates, and expresses prana. Shuddhi  means to cleanse or purify and thus, Chakra Shuddhi is the purification of the energy centres.
Chakras are vitaly important to our well-being as the function of the chakras is to spin and draw in vital energy to keep the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health of the body in balance. If we have one or more chakras which are under- or overactive, then this can overtime lead to physical, mental or emotional dis-ease. An understanding of the chakra system leads to an understanding of the self.
Each two-hour lesson of the course includes both theory and practice which gives you an opportunity not just learn about the chakra system as taught by someone but become aware of your own chakras and gain your own personal understanding. First receiving some knowledge about a chakra (its location, color, element, corresponding body parts, psychological associations, etc.) and accessing its performance mentally, we proceed with practice of specific asanas, pranayamas, visualization, mudras, bandhas, mantras and meditation techniques to experience, purify and balance that chakra. The purpose of Chakra Shuddhi course is to make the first step to real understanding of the human energetic anatomy, enrich your life by tapping into the vast technology of yoga and improve your state of health on all levels of your being.

Yoga Mandala
The word mandala translated from the sacred language of Sanskrit means "circle," but a mandala is far more than a simple shape. In practice, mandala has become a generic term for any plan, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically. The mandala pattern used in many spiritual traditions represents wholeness, and can be seen as a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds.
Yoga Mandala is tantric method of clearing the mind and balancing the consciousness that uses “pendulum principle” and method of repetition, and based on spatial model in the form of three-dimensional cross. Special attention is paid to the schemes of the training sequences of asanas, vinyasas, pranayamas, mudras, mantras and visualizations which are built according to specific formulas of alternations in order to facilitate balancing and special consciousness modification. In this regard, any careless or unconscious movements of the body between the asanas are prohibited. When only specific, conscious movements are executed, a proper foundation for mindful practice is created, leading one toward consciousness in every moment of one's life. Different types of pranayamas, mudras, mantras and visualisations are offered to further the fulfillment of the exercises and correspond correctly to the needs of the body-mind structure at all times during the training.
Yoga Mandala can help one to access progressively deeper levels of the unconscious, ultimately assisting the practitioner to experience a mystical sense of oneness with the higher self from which the cosmos in all its manifold forms arises.
