Partner Yoga

Partner Yoga is a playful, creative, exploratory way to experience yoga techniques that focus on both self and relationship development. Partner Yoga can be practiced by any two people: friends, co-workers, parents and children, or lovers. If you would like to come on your own, we will pair you up with someone on the day.

Working with a partner brings a whole new dimension to yoga practice as it helps you to open your body more deeply than you could alone. In partner yoga, you often use the other person's body weight and/or strength to actively push, pull, or stretch your body into different positions. In poses and exercises partners rely on each other's support to keep correct body alignment, balance, and concentration enabling greater opening, strength, release, and bliss. Your partner becomes a mirror to you; through giving and taking, you explore both verbal and non-verbal communication and learn subtle lessons of relationship.

The intent of Partner Yoga is to bring people together through movement, play, breath and touch. Pairing up with a stranger might seem to be more challenging but it has proven to be a very rewarding experience as it encourages great understanding of the fact that we all are coming from the same source. For couples, practicing Partner Yoga is a great way to strengthen their relationship by fortifying trust and communication and deepening intimacy. Friends can use Partner Yoga to help each other stay motivated and committed to their wellness plan. It is also a wonderful activity for parents and children (over 15 years old) to share.

A partner yoga classes make a great gift and can just be a fun alternative to the usual Sunday morning. Practicing yoga with a partner is uplifting and inspiring, and helps raise both people to new heights.

Appropriate for all levels. No yoga experience is needed.
